What is The Color Run™?
The Color Run™ 5k is a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family. Color runners come from all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds; but everyone toeing the start line has a blast. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of The Color Run™ course will be the most memorable and colorful run of your life!
Franklin Street ‘Color Me Fun 5k‘ will take place on April 20th at 8a.m. on 2000 West Franklin Street. Early registration is $35 and Race Day registration is $40. Kids 12 and under pay $15. We will be making a small donation back to the Evansville Running Club for helping us put on this event. The remaining funds will go back to us to help us pay for this event as well as upcoming future events. In order to continue to have stellar events such as this, we have to make our funds somehow. We are a nonprofit organization. However, we’re hoping that we’ll eventually have enough money to start making donations to local organizations sometime soon!
How does it work?
The Color Run™ event pretty much has TWO SIMPLE rules: 1) White shirts (which we will provide) mandatory at the start line. And 2) color plastered EVERYTHING at the finish! Runner/walkers begin the 5k at the start line like a brand new pristine coloring book. By the end, they look like they fell into a Willy Wonka… tie dyed… vat of colored goodness.
What is the Color?
Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color: yellow, orange, pink, or blue. As the runners/walkers reach the Kilometer COLOR Zones, they are blitzed by our volunteers, sponsors, and staff with COLOR. All products are 100% natural and safe. You can eat the stuff if you’d like (we have tried it and don’t suggest it, it is surprisingly high in calories and leaves a chalky aftertaste). See the diagram below for the COLOR ZONE specifics. Of course, we save the best for last, ending the race with a color extravaganza of epic proportions.

My daughter and I are definitely in, and are very excited. However, I wish you would consider some sort of family group discount. For our family of four to participate it would cost $100, and more next year once my daughter passes the 12 year mark. Tha’s a bit pricey, I think. I *love* what you are doing and support your efforts. I only hope that you will look for ways to make it more possible for families to participate in such events together.
We hope to be able to offer discounts next year. Right now we’re starting from ground zero so we need these events to help us pay for all event, city, and insurance cost.

That is correct! We reached our goal with attendance so there’s no need to charge for the kids! We are happy to give back! Make sure and dress your kiddos in white and have them prepared for a colorful good time!
I just signed up for the run, will we receive our shirt through the mail or the day of the race?
They’ll be ready the day of the race.
What is the route of the race?
The entire race will take place on Franklin Street! It’s going to be such a blast!
I have heard there is an event held after the race on the library lawn, if so could you give more info on this?

If the race starts at 8am, what time should we arrive to get checked in?
Check-ins will begin at 7am!
Will this paint stain running shoes or other clothes? Do the t-shirts have event logos?
The shirts do have the event logo and our logo. As far as the paint staining, it should NOT. A few of our members have participated in many of these runs and have never had that problem BUT (as they say) stuff happens. We would suggest not wearing your fancy kicks but maybe some that you won’t mind having memories from Color Me FUN 5k on there for awhile

The early registration deadline is April 13th!
Could the map for the run be posted on the website?
Not yet. We can assure you that it is an extremely easy route and the entire race is taking place on Franklin Street!
For children under 12 if we register them the day of event will they still recieve a shirt?
They sure will! All children shirts will be Youth L.
What will the shirts look like we receive? and do we need to bring confirmation e-mail print out the day of
It’s always a good idea to have a backup plan and bringing your confirmation will be just that. As far as the shirts, THEY ARE AWESOME AND FUN and we can’t wait to cover you in all the colorful paint we have!

where do you pick up the tshirts and packets? the day before? the day of?
Packets can be picked up day of the race!! We hope you’re getting as excited as we are!
I just registered today and was charged $40…I thought it was still $35 until tomorrow. Also, I will be bringing my daughter’s friend who is 12. Is there a way to print the waiver off in advance so that her mother can sign it?

Can I transfer my bib to a friend if I am unable to attend?
Here is how you transfer- Go to myevents.active.com and login to your account. Choose the option “Transfer registration to another athlete” and then enter the email address of the person you are transferring it to. Or click on the link in your registration confirmation email that says “transfer to someone else” and it will prompt you to put the email address in for the person you are transferring it to. Once they claim their registration, it will refund your payment (minus the active.com processing fee) and ask the person receiving the transfer to pay the CURRENT price of the registration. Transferring will be available up until a week before the race.
Do you know yet where the finish line will be if my family wants to meet up with me at the end?

I’m really needing to know how to get a waiver in advance for my daughter’s friend who is 12. If this cannot be provided in advance, will a note from her parent suffice? I have posted twice to this board with no reply.

I registered this morning from my phone although I never rec’d an email and don’t know what to do. Please help
Check your bank statement. If there’s a charge the you should be registered. If not, email your gull name to leah@tinmanbrewing.com and she’ll check for your name.
I am super excited about the race! Unfortunately, I did not get to register until today and the cost was $40 plus the $3.95 additional fee. Would it be better to just sign up on race day for the $40 rate? I have other friends who would like to join us!
